Toll billing in your rental
Salik is Dubai’s electronic toll system. Crossings are associated with the vehicle’s toll account. Dubai uses variable pricing, so do not budget from an old fixed-rate statement. Ask how crossings, applicable taxes and any agreed administration fee are itemised.
Parking is separate
Check the zone sign, paid hours and special conditions where you stop. Public parking, malls and hotel valet can follow different arrangements. Use an accepted payment channel for that zone or operator and keep the confirmation. A rental car still needs valid parking payment.
At a hotel, ask whether parking is included for guests and how keys will be handled. Before an event, check access and collection timing. Permission for a short handover is not permission to leave the car overnight.
Keep clear charge records
Ask how tolls and fines are communicated and supported after return. For a queried item, request the date, time, place and vehicle reference. Follow posted road limits and local rules rather than treating a supposed radar tolerance as permission to exceed a limit.
Your planning checklist
- Current toll information checked
- Parking zone and paid period
- Administration fees listed separately
- Transaction details for queries
Frequently asked questions
Is Salik in the daily rate?
Only when explicitly included in your quote. Otherwise confirm how transactions and any agreed processing charge are settled.
Does hotel delivery include parking?
Not automatically. Confirm hotel parking costs and the permitted handover point.
